Larry Patton, Senior Pastor

After growing up near St. Louis, Missouri, Larry enrolled at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in 1993. He earned his Master of Divinity degree and since 1993 has served as pastor of Methodist churches in North Georgia from Chattooga County, Floyd County, Carroll, Coweta, Forsyth, and back to Carrollton First in June 2015. Larry’s wife, Faith, a native of Colquitt County, GA, also holds a graduate degree in theology from Emory. They married in 1997 and have three children in Carrollton City Schools: Annabel, Micah, and Ellie.

Briggs Smith, Associate Pastor

 
Briggs was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. While at Georgia College, God called her to ministry. Briggs graduated from Duke Divinity School with a Master of Divinity in May 2018. She is passionate about preaching, teaching, missions and living out the Church’s mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Since receiving God’s call, Briggs served as a Seminary Intern at Milledgeville UMC, St. Timothy UMC and The Sharing House, a non-profit serving the homeless in Brevard, NC, Swepsonville UMC in Graham, NC and as a hospital Chaplain at Emory University Hospital. Briggs has two loving parents that have been married for 31 years and a brother, Harrison, who is an attorney.
 
 

Ken Stephens, Pastor of Visitation

He graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Urban Life, and is a graduate of Candler School of Theology holding a Master of Divinity degree.
Ken retired from the North Georgia Annual Conference in 2014 after serving churches for 42 years.
He and his wife Gail live in Douglasville, Ga. They have two children Casey & Justin, two grandsons, and one granddaughter.
