Church Facilities Manager and Audio/Visual Tech


Carrollton First Methodist Church is a faith-based church where anyone and everyone can connect with Christ, grow in faith, and serve more and more fully in God’s love.  CFMC is located at 206 Newnan Street in the heart of downtown Carrollton, GA. Our building is directly across Newnan Street from the courthouse parking deck.  This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor and will work with all staff and members to create a safe and respectful environment.

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Church Facilities Manager and Audio/Visual Tech. This vital role involves overseeing the maintenance, security, and functionality of our church facilities to create a welcoming and safe environment for our congregation and visitors. The position will manage and coordinate sound and audio for church services and events on a rotating basis. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and organized professional with a passion for ensuring the smooth operation of our church facilities.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance and Repairs:

   - Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan for all church buildings, including regular inspections and preventive maintenance.

   - Coordinate and oversee repairs, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of facility-related issues.

   - Manage relationships with external contractors for specialized services.

 

2. Security and Safety:

   - Implement and maintain security protocols to safeguard the church facilities, including surveillance systems and access control measures.

   - Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

   - Develop emergency response plans and coordinate drills to ensure the safety of occupants.

 

3. Space Management:

   - Coordinate the scheduling and use of church facilities for various events, meetings, and activities.

   - Work closely with ministry leaders to understand space requirements and facilitate effective space allocation.

   - Ensure that rooms and facilities are set up appropriately for each event or service.

 

4. Budgeting and Financial Management:

   - Assist in the development of the facilities budget and manage expenses within budgetary constraints.

   - Identify cost-effective solutions for maintenance and repairs without compromising quality.

 

5. Audio/Visual Technical Support:

-Ensure that all equipment is working and ready prior to services, including live stream and recordings to be broadcast on social media and the church website.

 

5. Team Leadership:

   - Supervise and lead a team that may include maintenance staff, custodians, and volunteers.

   - Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.

 

6. Communication:

   - Serve as the point of contact for facility-related concerns and inquiries.

   - Collaborate with church leadership to provide regular updates on facility-related matters.

   - Communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, and other external service providers.

 

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a church or non-profit organization.

- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.

- Excellent organizational and project management skills.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Budgeting and financial management experience.

- Familiarity with church operations and sensitivity to the unique needs of a religious community.

 

 

Anticipated work schedule: Sunday-Thursday with occasional Friday or Saturday events.

Reports to Senior Pastor
